Junior State Relay Training and Expectations

14 Mar by Aaron Wartmann

Hi team,

We will be running relay training for all Junior State Relays on Tuesday 19/3 during the morning session from 5am – 7am. It would be great to see all relay members turn up and meet your teammates as we practice changeovers and finishes prior to the competition that coming weekend.

Please note that if you are not part of a relay team, you are still able to come and train as per the normal training schedule.

As we lead into the Junior State, there are some expectations to uphold during the 2 day competition.

-Arrival time is to be at least 90 minutes before your first race. This will allow enough time for warm – up, changing into your racing suit and any buffer with the timeline.

-Warm – up. It is recommended that all swimmers bring their FINS to assist during warm – up and that swimmers are to complete a full warm – up and be dismissed by a coach.

-Before and after races. It is important that swimmers see a coach before and after their race. The idea of this is for the coaches to provide tips and feedback for their race and indicate areas that were done well and areas of improvement

-Warm – down. After a race swimmers will be asked to complete a warm – down. This helps to relax the body and bring down the heart rate after a fast race. Please ensure that this is completed.

-Team spirit. It is vital that all swimmers wear club uniform only. This includes club shirts, club jumpers and club caps on pool deck. Swimmers are also encourage to cheer on team mates throughout the weekend and support each other in all aspects.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at wartmanna@chrg.com.au or see a coach on pool deck.

Good Luck to all Dolphins racing this coming weekend at State Open and Junior State next weekend!

Thanks,

Aaron
